Lillie's: This Victorian pub, which opened last week, has as many personalities as whiskey offerings (44 is the current count, so we’re talking about a downright schizophrenic little establishment). Part sports bar, part elegant eatery, part pub – with all the requisite grub – Lillie’s is too young to quite decide what it is. For one thing, it’s being swiftly colonized by those sports-rooting guys we love to hate (only time will tell whether the football being watched will hear European- or Brooklyn-accented cheers), but the owners seem to aim for a more serious ambience: They brought the pub’s antique bar and furniture over from Belfast, following in the footsteps of turn-of-the-century actress Lillie Langtry, a renowned beauty rumored to have had lots of lovers who emigrated to the U.S. Who knows, maybe she’s haunting the place? That would make all those jocks happy. Open daily 11am-4am.
