Leisure Time Bowl: When you think of bowling, most times you think of dudes like Peter from "Family Guy" and some major suburban hair. And in the past, thoughts of Port Authority only fueled that myth…but not anymore. Welcome to the new Leisure Time Bowl where weekend Night Owl Bowling starts at 9pm and offers a better time than a lot of clubs in this godforsaken city. (It’s just $9.50 a game at peak hours!) Here you’ve got great music (everything from Mary J. to Queen), the Wet Watermelon cocktail ($10 and made from real watermelons), those infamous beer towers, and no heels to lie about people’s real height (gotta love those bowling shoes)…you’re on your own about breast size. Shorty or not, everybody loves the nachos and chicken fingers, but if you’re trying not to kill yourself (a la "Family Guy’s" McStroke episode), go with the fruit and cheese plate delicately offered to those watching their figure. And people are there to do that too—we even got a “hey cutie” remark which sure beat the “psst, you sexy bitch” we got last weekend from a Meatpacking bar! Oh, and if you are of the B&T crowd (though we didn’t see many), the buses are right there to take your BUI-ass home. The “B” is for bowling, of course. |
