It’s commendable to find a comedy spot in the heart of hipster heaven, and Laugh Lounge manages to blend in with the rest of its surroundings pretty nicely. Unfortunately, the majority of denizens of this neighborhood are more likely to try and write their own comedy on their blogs rather than check out fifth-rate hacks bomb behind the microphone. The bar itself is nothing to write home about, though the selection of alcoholic beverages is impressive, and also necessary for the poor shlubs who need to wallow away in an unending spiral of their own misery after a bad show. Laugh Lounge also doesn’t exactly cater to those of us who like to start boozing at 3am, so if you’re looking for late-night laughs and/or booze, you’d be better off robbing a liquor store and catching a rerun of “Saturday Night Live.”
