Landmarc: If space travel looks this good, then beam us up! Chef Marc Murphy’s self-referential spot Landmarc (heh) resembles nothing so much as an unbelievably attractive spaceship. The main bar and VIP lounge are made up of circular, enclosed metal areas ensuring optimum privacy from prying eyes (or roaming Klingons). Symmetrical spotlights surround the circumference of the downstairs bar, shining on the steel counter as if to say “Welcome to Earth.” (Or to beer—who knows?) A staircase with a banister made of industrial pipes leads upstairs while steel art pieces line the walls, serving as a conversation piece for those awkward “getting to know you” moments. Not that you’ll be at a loss for words when the food arrives. Murphy’s cuisine, like Landmarc’s décor, is simply out of this world. |
