Laila: This bar/gallery/performance house is such a weird combination of things that it actually works. The pool table dominates most of the inside, but the back patio area is the real gem; it’s a haven for people looking to chat and drink under the stars, something that isn’t easy to do in this neighborhood. The people who hang out here are a mix of local Polish folks who wandered down from Greenpoint, and kids who don’t seem to have much else to do other than play pool, sing karaoke, pump quarters into the jukebox, and check out live music. Hey, slackers and Polish men getting along just fine? That’s what you could call a decent Williamsburg joint. |
