La Bottega (@ the Maritime Hotel): The Maritime Hotel is a real-life Cinemax after-hours set. There are good-looking people everywhere, sexy lounges on the roof and in the basement, and two perfect date restaurants as well. La Bottega is the more “fun” of those eateries. (The other is the more serious Matsuri.) This Italian eatery specializing in wood-burning oven-baked pizza is set in what looks like a combination brasserie/wine store/country grocer. Of course, being in this hotel, it has modern influences, muted white walls, and a sceney fashionista crowd. Tuna, chicken, and rabbit are all prepared with care, but those fresh pizza pies can’t miss. A couple here can easily leave without spending more than $75 sans wine, but the Italian reds are hard to resist. Reservations are not accepted. |
