Keybar: Still somewhat of a secret in the East Village, this Hungarian bar packs a punch with minute details, as the actual bar changes color. Once you start drinking, it will be even more exciting. But here’s the problem, and it’s a big one—there is a serious lack of space. One may call it cozy and romantic, but it’s too friggin’ small. Management has clearly worked overtime to come up with creative solutions to downplay the spatial challenges. Inventive drinks like the Blackout and Keymosa combined with dancey DJ beats liven up the atmosphere. There’s even a fireplace, and 2-for-1 drinks until 10pm—a key element of downtown fun, especially when you’re packed in tighter than a gerbil at Richard Gere’s house. |
