Is it a bar? Is it a deli? Even JP Mustard doesn’t seem to know. This spot in the South Street Seaport is suffering from a serious case of the confuseds. It wants to serve you cold cuts! It wants you to drink! Not that either of these are bad options, but JP Mustard can’t seem to make up its mind which to be. And really, should it have to? After all, the tourists who flock there after Seaport shopping don’t seem to mind one bit. After a trip to the Gap for cotton chinos, why not kick back here with a beer? Weather permitting the sprawling outdoor patio attracts Seaporters looking for solace and perhaps, just perhaps, some pastrami on rye.
