Jake's Dilemma
Jake’s is old-timey when you walk in, but it works. Everyone from yuppies to construction workers to college types hang here, playing some foosball or beer pong, watching a game, and BS-ing after work. When a mere pint won’t do, beer is sold by the pitcher and/or the yard (that’s three feet for you frat boys out there). Jake’s has nightly specials such as Monday’s $7 pitchers and Thursday’s Pitcher of Shots, as well as a half-price happy hour from 1pm-7pm on weekends. Whether it’s crowded or not, the “Living Room” in the back has that “making out in your girlfriend’s father’s study” feel to it, for when the opportunity presents itself. Like its Upper West Side sister, The Gin Mill, a private room is available downstairs.

Sweet!!

I came here last weekend with a bunch of friends for a low-key get together...and ended up staying until 3am. The bartenders were fast, the drinks were cheap..... I'll be back as soon as i get rid of my hangover!!!!

college life

Too many college students at a bar that should be far enough away from Columbia to avoid it.

Shot & Beer?

Hard core downtown bar on the upper west side!!!! The hidden private party room is a must for small events especially bachelor parties. Why go anywhere else?

Great Bar, Awesome Private Party Rooms

This bar rocks. No two ways about it. And they have a downstairs private party room called the Oak Cellar...I just had my 25th birthday party there and they did an amazing job. Thank You! It was so easy to plan the whole thing and the drink specials were the best I found in the Upper West.
