Jade Bar: Jade is the small front bar to its snobby step-sister, Rose, at the Gramercy Hotel. Separated by strikingly long, crimson drapery, Jade has the same grandiose aesthetic as Rose. The ceilings are just as high, the artwork just as massive, and wooden walls as quasi-rustic. Here the bar dominates the space, with additional seating along the perimeter on bright blue velvet banquettes with golden shag edges. Beautiful and chic waitresses hustle about with finesse; they, along with attractive male bartenders, are courteous and helpful with selecting a specialty cocktail. Of the two siblings, Jade maintains an after-work feel with a slightly older crowd mostly in suits. Regardless, with this much potential, this little jewel is definitely worth return visits. |
