At the cut-off between South Slope and “real” Park Slope, Jackie’s pleads guilty to drawing a very boozy crowd. The dark and dingy bar provides an enclave for the neighborhood’s misfits and increasingly diminishing blue-collared crowd. Ladies in white gym shoes sip wine spritzers while the guys opt for the buckets for beer…even if there’s nobody to share with. Not mainstream, but not different enough to be offbeat, this dive is just right for its frequent regulars who over the years have gone from drinking buddies to drinking buddies with benefits. Don’t even try to get someone to buy you a drink—this crowd will always plead the Fifth.
