Izakaya Ten: Tapas ain’t just for the Spanish. Izakaya Ten has taken up residence in the space that was once Anzu, and they’ve taken the hint from neighbor Tia Pol that some Americans actually like small plates. Most plates come in the form of sushi or sashimi, but there’s also a number of unconventional tasting plate options like the house specialty ginger pork belly, monkfish liver, and tuna topped omelets. Like any proper izakaya (term for a Japanese snack and sake spot) there are 20 sakes available by masu—a traditional Japanese serving box used instead of a glass—as well as a long list of cocktails made with shochu. Brew heads can also opt for a variety of Japanese beers. See, everyone’s happy, and forgetfully drunk. |
