Inside Park Terrace at St. Bart's: Daytime drinks on Park Avenue? Life can’t be too bad if you’re able to squander a gorgeous afternoon at the Inside Park Terrace at St. Bart’s. Bring a few of your like-minded friends, or a good book, and grab a table under one of the paper-thin umbrellas or a seat at the bar. Food by chef Matt Weingarten (formerly of Savoy and Porcupine) is above average, and the drinks—a solid selection of beers and specialty martinis—are even better. The backdrop of St. Bart’s church adds romance, making the bar an ideal spot for pre-dinner or post-brunch drinks (until they close at 7pm, that is.) The space is designed for lounging, a mentality reflected in the slow-motion service. Even sitting at the bar, you may wait 10 minutes for a refill, so only come when you’ve got time to spare and no upcoming conference calls that will require sobriety. |
