Hudson Bar @ the Hudson Hotel: After a few minutes at Hudson Bar, you’ll start looking around for the film crew. Never has a better-looking crowd been seen in a better-looking spot. A luminescent glass floor casts a glow up the bare legs of the mini-skirt-wearing model types sipping Polish Apple Martinis and chatting with the up-and-coming actor types. The decorative accents, a chair resembling a tree stump, and a hand-painted ceiling by world-renowned artist Francesco Clemente add to the fabulous mix of space odyssey-meets-Versailles created by famed designer Philippe Starck. The rooftop garden with jungle-like climbing vines and cushy antique chairs is one of the nicest in the city. There is no denying that the place is swank, but make sure you look the part if you want to partake. It’s also the most clientele-picky hotel bar in the city, so dress nicely and show up early. |
