Hotel Griffou: When is a hotel bar NOT a hotel bar? When it's The Hotel Griffou. This dangerously dark hideaway is actually a 4-star restaurant backed by a conglomerate of seasoned New York restaurateurs who clearly got good marks in American Lit 101. Originally, the space was owned by French-born Marie Griffou, who served literary giants like Mark Twain and Edgar Allan Poe, so it makes sense that this Griffou was created as a haven for current A-listers (if not exactly the book-writing type). The bar is lit with just enough candles to set the mood, but not set off the smoke detectors. Once inside order a Trophy Wife—Cabana Cachaca, Passion fruit puree, brut cava—and let the night unfold. |
