Hooter's: Everyone knows that people come to Hooters for the renowned tangy fried chicken wings, right? Or the rustic beach-themed décor? Okay, so try as it might (and it doesn’t try hard) to bill itself as just another “neighborhood joint,” the draw here is the tight orange shorts, tiny tank tops, and, of course, the young women who fill out said uniform—the infamous Hooter Girls. Happy hour is Monday through Friday (4pm–7pm) and draws many (male) suits in the area. The clientele is predominantly frat-like, but the wings are actually pretty good, the service is friendly, and a jukebox cranks out Top 40 hits while the TVs are tuned to the latest sports events. This Hooters even offers upscale “Gourmet Chicken Wings”: For $199, you can have 20 chicken wings and a bottle of Dom. |
