Highline Ballroom: No need to shed any more tears for CBGBs (a sniffle would suffice at this point), as there’s a new venue in town to get your live music fix. Backed by B.B. King’s owner Steve Bensuan and Lou Reed (so you know it’s gotta be good), the 700 person venue features two levels with two bars on the main floor for maximum drinking potential. For serious cases of the munchies between sets, seated and standing menus offer everything from Highline mini kobe burgers to truffled buttered popcorn. It goes without saying that the drinks (and the food…and the tickets) are pricey, but you’re paying for quality, not quantity, peeps. Besides, someone has to pay for that much needed fog machine and seizure inducing light effects. |
