Hea: Named after the Cantonese word for "chill," Hea (pronounced "hee") brings a moment of Zen to the East Village dining scene. Opened by Joe Ngai, owner of hot date spots Friendhouse and Friendhouse II, this South Asian and Japanese restaurant will calm and seduce with handcarved wood furniture, patent leather banquettes, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The bar/lounge on the first floor is open later than the more formal upstairs dining room and sushi bar, which is open until 11:30pm Sun.-Thu. and 'til midnight on weekends. |
