Haven: This is one Haven that’s not for the homeless. Celebutante Paris Hilton and her latest accessory, Benji Madden, hosted the opening party for this sophisticated alternative in Midtown. With cocktails starting at $15 each, Haven (formerly Divine Bar East) defies the flagging Dow—but what else would you expect from actress-promoter duo Bershan Shaw and Jorge Peguero? The main level of this villa-like space is decked out like a well-traveled gentleman’s club—Parisian chandeliers, snakeskin leather walls, deer antlers, swords from Hong Kong, masks from Bali—and servers are decked out in red tube dresses. The second floor “library,” more Buckingham Palace than Moulin Rouge, is a welcome retreat from the house beats pulsing below. Snuggle on a cozy loveseat or cop a cushy leather wing chair and wash down international tapas with an $18 champagne cocktail while asking, “What recession?”
