Harry Boland's Pub: If bars were TV shows, Harry Boland’s would be “Family Ties.” Because it’s wholesome (as far as pubs go) without being cheesy, the bar draws a fun, unpretentious crowd. Okay, and there’s a good chance the weekend bartender will remind you of Alex P. Keaton. Darts are the activity of choice and at $4.50 a pint the loser can actually afford to buy the winner a beer—but don’t expect this crowd to keep score. These cats are low-key; you could literally wear your pajamas into this joint any time and nobody would bat an eyelash. Wearing a tie, however, might get a few stares. |
