Who said there ain’t no honky-tonk in Brooklyn? Hank’s has it. This dive bar on Atlantic Avenue is a great no-frills (unless you count the Buck Hunter, Photo Hunt, and NASCAR memorabilia adorning the place) drinking joint with a tough, but very welcoming attitude. Like Hank Williams and Johnny Cash? Then you must go. From high heels to cowboy boots, lots of tattoos to super red lips—all are welcome. They also have a free cookout on the concrete outside the place every Sunday. The BBQ ambassador serves up dogs, sausages, and burgers that perfectly compliment the inexpensive booze. And that’s not all...the entertainment is also on the house. Sean Kershaw & The New Jack Ramblers are a staple at Hank’s on Sunday, and you can dance, sing-a-long, or just hang out at the bar and drink for two bucks. Mondays feature Kuntry Karaoke. Word is, they will be expanding soon and we can’t wait.
