Hallo Berlin: Gorging on rollmops and koenigsberger klopse might sound like something you’d hear on “Sesame Street,” but it’s the menu at Hallo Berlin. They call themselves “New York’s wurst restaurant,” and they mean it. Eight different varieties of wursts, or German sausage, are served on crusty bread with sides of kraut, red cabbage, and mustard for only $3-$4. Wash it down with a stein or humpen of German beer—choose from over 20 types—in the spacious indoor beer garden. Big picnic tables are outfitted with umbrellas so it’s always summer here, but do yourself a favor and leave the lederhosen at home. |
