Grand 275: Hmm, grand may be a bit of a stretch, as the only thing truly “grand” about this old-school establishment is well, umm…nothing. Sure, this classic local watering hole has a decent (and cheap!) beer selection (happy hour’s from 3pm–7pm), boasts friendly bartenders, and serves up some respectable pub grub (including Sunday brunch, featuring unlimited champagne) to a mixture of welcoming neighborhood types, most of whom pledge their allegiance to the AARP. But all the “charm” of pressed-tin ceilings and wood paneling in the world fails to mask the 146 years’ worth of dirt and grime coating every surface. But hey, if you don’t skeeve easily, then by all means, have a grand ol’ time. |
