Geronimo: Geronimo calls itself a Mexican restaurant, but die-hard foodies be warned: this is Americanized Mexican food, amigos. What was our first clue? The Veggie Burger. Everyone knows the only taco without cooked meat to eat is the one we go "geronimo" on. But there are offerings like the Aztec Arroz con Pollo and sizzling marinated shrimp that make our mouths water. Brunch is where it’s at and some Latin flavor might do you some good first thing on a Sunday morning. For $9.95, you'll get a cactus-stemmed glass margarita (it's a glass you can keep, you cheap drunk) or mimosa, and goodies like breakfast burritos, French toast, and wraps slathered in chipotle mayo. Happy hour isn’t so bad either: $5 and up margaritas, $3 drafts, and a do-it-yourself taco bar. Sounds like a step up from "running for the border." |
