Flatiron Lounge: The B-list boom and sloppy starlet invasion of nightlife has left some of us romanticizing about the glamour of Old Hollywood, where alcohol was sipped, not chugged. The Flatiron Lounge tries to resurrect the glam of the elite-priced cocktail in an environment of low-lit elegance. Floor-to-ceiling mirrors in the foyer are adorned with silhouettes in a fashion sketch style and a white-lit tunnel breaks the visual palette for a back space filled with deep blue banquettes, mirror mosaics, and a relic bar from Sinatra-frequented The Ballroom circa 1927. Downstairs the slight glow of cracked glass orbs creates a darker, clubbier feel. An original menu of cocktail concoctions is Flatiron’s pride, and the wait staff possesses a drink insight that may only be paralleled by the same-owned Pegu Club. Try one of the flights for a serious sampling without going broke. |
