Five Leaves: Hipsters across McCarren Park have dropped their frisbees and flocked to Five Leaves, Greenpoint’s only Australian-fare oyster bar. Heath Ledger (and later, his estate) helped open this nautical-themed corner restaurant, complete with handcrafted light fixtures, rope-encircled support beams and an exposed kitchen. The most interesting aspect of the layout, though, is the Coffee To-Go window, which allows passersby to grab a cup of joe without the need to elbow their way inside. Unfortunately, you’ll have to brave the crowd if you want a Moscow Mule – a specialty drink made with vodka, soda water, lime juice, and ginger. The bar’s warm and modest vibe will welcome you. Open daily 8am-12am.
