Finnerty’s: Technically speaking, Finnerty’s is an Irish pub. However, a young, lively crowd, dartboards, foosball, a pool table, and Buck Hunter place it firmly in Fratbarsville. Above the bar, three large TVs mean that the place is packed on game days. Confiscated fake IDs line one wall while photo collages on another document nights perhaps better forgotten. The diverse crowd downloads songs on the digital jukebox, interspersing hip-hop, rock, country, and pop. Groups of NYUers often show up to mingle and take advantage of the $7 pitchers and well drinks, $2 pints, and the notorious $5 “Hell’s Bells” PBR and whiskey special; in fact, we’re sure this dive bar is single-handedly responsible for some students taking six years to graduate instead of four. Inquire about private parties if you want to celebrate your next birthday passed out on the pool table with a co-ed. |
