Fig & Olive (Midtown): The Midtown branch of Fig & Olive is kind of like the cast of The Hills–good-looking, healthy, but a little slow. The Mediterranean menu and airy setting make for a decent option for a light meal, but spotty service is preventing this place from gaining a fan base. Like its other locations, executive chef Pascal Lorange’s menu is thick with French, Italian, and Spanish dishes featuring olives, olive oil, and cheese, and of course, there's a large selection of wine. Perhaps the staff doesn’t realize the fig leaf is greener (and more attentive) at the other locations—you certainly won’t feel rushed here. |
