Fiddlesticks: More than just a nerdy expletive, Fiddlesticks is a better-than-average Irish pub with tons of space, cheap beer, and friendly service. Sure, there are a million Irish pubs in this city, and a quarter of them are in this neighborhood, but Fiddlesticks ups the ante by turning out superb versions of pub grub staples like burgers and fish and chips. Drinks are poured strong and priced reasonably, which probably explains why the place gets packed on the weekends. The crowd is mostly collegiate, and there is a bit of a frat-guy vibe, but with offers like $3 happy hours, what do you expect? Still, the patrons are generally jovial and after a couple of Guinnesses, you will be too. |
