Fat Baby
Fat Baby is cool as hell. How much do we love a cozy, dimly lit, tri-level lounge featuring live music? A hell of a lot. From the authentic Goth-looking bartender to the unfriendly stares the so-called locals give to anyone not dressed in hipster rags, Fat Baby pretty much epitomizes the Rivington Street bar scene, and you’ll certainly never mistake the bar as being located in, say, the Upper East Side. Still, it’s fun to toy with the holier-than-thou types by showing up wearing two items of clothing they’ve never even seen: a suit and a tie. Despite the fact that you’re sick to death of the hipster elite, take a trek down to Fat Baby, enjoy the ample seating, and let the unknown bands downstairs win you over.

The downstairs does smell like bathroom, but the upstairs is really fun. It gets really packed on weekends.

Fat Ugly Dirty Baby

Was there last week and the place was terrbile. It was packed, it smells like a bathroom, the floor was gross and wet, bathrooms were disgusting at best, music started out good but ended up bad...I could go on and on. I expected much more from this place especially after reading shecky's review.

the new LES

Fat baby brings all the style and ambience of far fancier neighborhoods but keeps its price and its attitude real.
