Elsa:
It’s certainly not a novel idea to open a bar in the East Village. But a place where you can grab a brew and get fitted for a pair of slacks? Well, an idea as unique as that is likely to suit any New Yorker just fine. Named after the 1920’s iconic fashion designer Elsa Sciaparelli, this new brewtique takes over for the former dive of a bar Hanger. In addition to selling suits up front and beers in the back, there’s also spacious seating, a more dressed up drink menu to satisfy the more sophisticated taste, and even an antique sewing machine that’s been converted into a beer tap. The white and black flooring throughout adds to the warm and quirky ambience of this wonderfully peculiar new watering hole. Open Tues.-Sun. 7pm-2:30am.
