Elmo: With the frenzy of local hipsters, models, Chelsea boys, and Eurotrash here, it’s easy to confuse this eatery for a nightclub. Factor in the beautiful wait staff and blaring music, and you might feel inclined to start dancing on tables. But that just wouldn’t be cool here. Instead, order the meatloaf with thyme mashed potatoes and garlic spinach ($14.95) or try the raspberry lemonade made with vodka ($10). Though the tasty dishes that frequent this place are hotter than the dishes served, the food here especially fulfills its purpose on a Sunday morning, when dozens of patrons in sunglasses come to recover from the previous night. Though it may not be a club, think of Elmo as a sort-of after-party. |
