El Quijote: You have to wonder if Sid and Nancy got to try the lobster before it was too late. (We’re guessing there wasn’t a whole lot of eating going on in the Chelsea Hotel’s infamous room #100.) El Quijote, as much a Chelsea institution as the glorified hospice under which it’s tucked, is a big, bustling, yelling international tribute to Spanish food and atmosphere. Yack at the bar with some thrill-seeking tourists, or shuffle past the weary staff into the white noise of one of these giant dining rooms. Everyone...no, really, EVERYONE...swears by the lobster, so get that (always market-priced). Your server will recommend some sangria to go with it, or you can simply ask the French tourists at the next table over for a wine pick. |
