Ed's Lobster Bar: Lobster always seems to bring out the snob in everyone. Ed McFarland (former chef at Pearl Oyster Bar), on the other hand, has passed on the wallet-draining silver platters and instead opted for the intimate simplicity of a white-washed-hallway of a space loaded with enough quality seafood to satisfy even the most pretentious New Englander. Grab a seat at the 30-foot bar, order up Ed’s signature lobster roll, and wash it all down with one of the four craft beers on tap (the Smuttynose Porter comes highly recommended from the chef himself). The drink selection here isn’t huge by any means (just beer and wine), but the straightforward menu and friendly environment have suddenly made lobster snobbery a thing of the past. |
