Dusk: Dusk is the sort of neighborhood bar that makes you want to move in next door. It’s pretty—the whole front area surrounding the pool table is a dazzling disco ball of a room with mirror-mosaic walls—without being pretentious. It’s low-key without being divey. It’s hip without making you want to shoot yourself. Everything about the place is slightly tongue-in-cheek, from the action figures amongst the bottles to the two-way mirror above the urinals. It’s where you want to bring your smart, cynical friends for booze-lubricated discussions of art and politics and last night’s Adult Swim lineup. A subdued nightly happy hour (5:30pm-9pm, 7:30pm-9pm on Saturdays) segues into Tuesday night’s raucous Napkin Idol competition, where your best bar napkin doodle could win you free drinks and an extended happy hour. |
