Dovetail: OK, so you’re not an exuberant ten-year old fresh out of the Museum of Natural History. You’re not a Riverside Drive dwelling doctor either. Never fear, there’s still a place for you to grab a meal between Hell’s Kitchen and Morningside Heights. With entrees averaging around $30 each, it’s not cheap for the babe on a budget, but the vibe is far from stuffy and the food is guaranteed to please. Owner and chef John Fraser, formerly of Compass describes the menu as “New American… all things in all cultures.” Dovetail offers various wines and cognacs, but the bragging rights in the alcohol department stem from their 25 imported sherries. On Sundays, they dish up a $38 prix fixe dinner. Head there after church, you heathen. |
