Desnuda: Spanish for the word “naked”, Desunda puts everything very much out in the open. This East Village bar and seafood-“snack” restaurant has no kitchen, very limited seating, and bartenders who double as the chefs and prepare both drink and food orders right there in front of you. The dishes themselves are small, so don’t come here expecting any sort of full meal. The crowd is comprised of chic East Village locals, and the service, in a word, is amazing. Prices are what you can expect for an EV bar that specializes in seafood (definitely make it a point to try the tea-smoked oysters), but don’t let that be a hindrance for coming here—it’s a great spot to start the night.
