Delmonico’s: After a long day of hostile takeovers and leveraged buyouts, who’s a banker gotta kill to get a drink on Wall Street? Fortunately, no one. They go to Delmon-ico’s, where Wall Street types and generally powerful people have been decompressing since 1837. In the bar (which has an entrance separate from the restaurant), Delmonico’s offers all the finest staples of the high-roller liquid diet: single-malt Scotches, dry gins, and over a thousand wines. There’s also the food, which goes well beyond ordinary bar offerings. The Oysters Rockefeller is a favorite choice, and you could argue that Delmonico’s classic steak is the best in the city. |
