Delicatessen: Expanding on their successful "trendsetters need to eat too" model at Cafeteria in Chelsea, owners Mark Thomas Amadei and Andrew Glassberg are ensuring the fashion set will feel at home at this den of international comfort food. The space features wrap-around glass and steel retractable garage doors, a glass-roofed lounge with a mural by Juan Jose Heredia, and a downstairs lounge, "Minibar," serving small plates and cocktails. Look for menu covers featuring mugs of neighborhood friends shot by Terry Richardson and staff outfits by Charlotte Ronson.
The SoHo/NoLita eatery will have two bars and, after Labor Day, will be open through latenight to accomodate the 24-hour party people, who only eat things like Reuben fritters and cheeseburger spring rolls when it's time to ward off hangovers. When breakfast and lunch hours are added, we predict the early morning scene will ease some pain for those who miss Florent.
