Cru: From Cru’s 6,400-bottle “wine portfolio,” hundreds make the menu every night, and the staff is well-versed in their restaurant’s leather-bound, Tolstoy-esque “lists.” Cru’s restaurant and lounge is covered in beautiful hard wood, and the tasteful décor is matched by tasty dishes. Sound pricey? Then you heard it right. With entrées in the $20-$50 range, and the better wines pushing a couple Franklins, you might have to take out a small loan to do this place right. The pastas are inventive, but the fish is where it’s at. Try the sea bass or the halibut, or if you’re a landlubber, go hog wild for a seasonal “Roasted Berkshire Pig.” There is a slightly lighter menu available in the small lounge area, but those cramped window seats are best for wine-sipping. |
