Crash Mansion: This underrated, understated, and underground music venue is soon to be one of the Bowery’s only live music venues. And though it’s too fancy to host the next coming of the Ramones, Norah Jones, The Rapture, and a steady influx of promising up-and-comers do what they can. The room looks like a cave: jagged stonewalls, a somewhat low ceiling, etc. Luckily, there are no bats. As with all music venues, the crowd changes with each show. The line outside can be brutal and sightlines in the back of the room (around the bend) can be tough to negotiate. When you look on their schedule and see “private party,” odds are it’s a good one. On other nights, you’re rolling the dice. |
