Railroad and shipping magnate Cornelius Vanderbilt would feel right at home in this sophisticated gastropub. With an interior reminiscent of an antique railcar and a liquor menu bigger than his sideburns (but just barely), this spot will take you back to the Gilded Age. But while the Commodore's ship may have sailed, the living can still stop in to enjoy whiskey flights and an admirable rotating beer menu. Happy hour runs Sun.-Thu. from 5 to 7pm and 11pm to 1am. Friday and Saturday from 5 to 7pm you can score $1 off beer and hard liquor and blue point oysters for $1 a shot. Just be sure not to expound on the declining merits of free enterprise while you’re there. Open Mon.-Sun. 5pm-2am.
