Comic Strip Live:
Established in 1975, the Comic Strip Live is the New York comedy institution where many famous cut-ups got started. Headshots of Comic Strip stars like Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock cover the walls, while a long bar situated near the door greets entering patrons. For wannabe funny folks, the Strip offers open mic nights, comedy tutorials, and “New Talent” night every Thursday. Get ready to laugh, but be prepared to pay; admission for the Sunday-Thursday shows is $15, and jumps to $20 for Friday’s three and Saturday’s four performances. Once you’re seated, keep your wallet out. Even if you’re on the wagon, the per person drink minimum is two drinks, every night.
