Coliseum Bar: Like many a New York City oldie-but-goodie, this bar is named after a landmark that is no longer there. Then again, who cares? Since its renovation two years ago, this friendly Irish pub has turned a fresh face to its new neighbor, the massive Time Warner monolith. Although thirsty entertainment executives and tourists are more than enough to thoroughly cram the Coliseum’s 100-person capacity, our quaint little nook strives to make friends with those of a more local sort. Drop in after a jaunt through Central Park for one of 12 or so draughts, over 20 bottled beers, and a hefty list of single malts. There’s food, too. Would fish ’n’ chips or shepherd’s pie be a surprise? |
