Cleopatra’s Needle: Cleopatra’s Needle is a jazz bar and restaurant named for the monument in Central Park. There is live music here every night, including open mic nights on Wednesdays and Sundays. Open mic here, however, is not like karaoke at the local dive bar, nor is it a shot at redemption for “American Idol” rejects. The performers here are always talented and often surprising. You may hear an exact ringer for Harry Connick, Jr. and look up to see a young kid in baggy jeans and a Fubu t-shirt. Food is served for those who’d rather dine than tune in. |
