Clandestino Cafe & Bar: Walk into Clandestino and you’d swear it was lit by tons of candles—the soft lighting is that good. The slipper-sized spot is small enough so that you can eavesdrop on other conversations without trying (keep that in mind while you recap the previous evening’s drunken escapade). But the vibe is so warm and mellow, you’d probably get invited to join in the discussion. The café part is not quite up and running—only a selection of cheeses and bread for now—but the bar portion certainly is. A rotating wine list is written on chalkboards above the bar and separated by category—white & red, sweet & dry, light & full—for all you “Wine for Dummies” fans. A piano sits in the back just waiting to be tickled by closet Liberace fans, but if you’ve had just about enough of the “Fur Elise” renditions, step out onto the even tinier deck for some air or a private table for two. |
