Chez Oskar: Maybe it’s because the servers speak French, but this place feels like the real deal. With its gilt-framed mirrors, dark-finished bar, and hazy din of jazz music, Chez Oskar captures the spirit of an authentic bohemian Paris bistro. Join Pratt students and arty folk for the reasonably priced (entrées start at $16) standard bistro fare, like the citrus salad, lamb shank, or steak frites, and a nice glass of wine. Don’t roll your eyes when you see flourless chocolate cake on the dessert menu; Chez Oskar does this decadent delicacy right. If chocolate’s not your thing, perhaps the brandied pear will settle nicely after a meal of hearty mustard rabbit (it tastes nothing like chicken!). If you can’t find this place (that would be difficult given the blazing red façade), just call in your order; they deliver. |
