Center Cut @ The Empire Hotel: If your name isn’t on Madoff’s list and you can still afford to come here, then you’ll have the pleasure of enjoying a sophisticated atmosphere, cordial service, and menu definitely worth coming back to. The interior design is gorgeous—borderline theatrical. There’s a small bar that’s where it's very difficult to get the bartender's attention, so you’re better off simply ordering at your table. The global wine menu is very impressive, too, with a lot – almost too many – styles to choose from. Center Cut’s claim to fame, though, is the safe practices it uses in its meal preparations—hormone-free beef, free-range fowl, sustainable seafood and sides that are grown locally to the area. So go ahead and order that $69 full-table steak—your guilt is checked at the door. Open daily for breakfast 6:30am-11am, dinner Mon.-Wed. 5am-11pm, Thu.-Sat. 5pm-midnight, Sun. 5pm-10pm.
