Catch 22: Until recently, mixing pizzas and empanadas has been reserved for the completely obliterated. With the opening of Chef Alex Garcia's new spot, Catch 22, this “no win” combination is now “Major Major.” The fusion of Argentinean and Italian fare is a treat even for the sober: think chicharron calamari, salchicha pizzas, and exotic "stews" such as abondigas (stewed meatballs) and pollo cezador (chicken cacciatore). Even though it's in Williamsburg, this joint isn't over-the-top hip, rather it's simple and inviting with its empanada cases, large pizza oven, and exposed brick fireplace in the back. Have a pitcher of sangria (mango or berry, $22) or a bottle of Argentinean brew, Quilmes, at the extended granite counter and you're headed for an exotic vacay.
