Cantina Latina: Though generally unified by a common language, Latin America still refers to a lot of diverse places. Thus, at new resturante Cantina Latina, a virtual UN summit of influences are covered, including the menu (a fusion of Mexican and Cuban), décor (Argentinian wallpaper) and drinks, such as the tasty whisky Chi-Chi Rodriguez (named after a Puerto Rican golfer). As for that common language part, leave it to Barack Obama to tie it all together with wall art chanting, “¡Si se puede!” (and yes, you can figure out that translation). Even bullfighters have a place at this Cantina, as one glimpse at the toro-tastic backroom décor shows. Opens this week. |
